Greetings From Marlboro Country – No Smoking Allowed the world’s Largest Cigarette Factory Bans Smoking

The home state of Marlboro cigarettes and the scene of world’s biggest cigarette factory are banning smoking in most restaurants and bars.
Virginia Governor Tim Kaine signed a bill on Monday 9th March that generally restricts smoking to separate rooms that have their own ventilation. It takes effect from December this yearTwenty-three of 50 states, including Washington, DC, have banned smoking in most public places, including bars and restaurants. Other states debating smoking bans this year include neighbouring tobacco state North Carolina, along with Kansas, South Dakota and Wyoming.

The Virginia State began growing tobacco 400 years ago and it is home to Philip Morris and its Marlboro cigarette factory, the world’s largest and well known for it’s Welcome to Marlboro country advertising slogan.

This ban is still far off the smoking ban in the UK where smoking is banned in every public place.
