Good Old Bin Men Trained to Spot Burglars

Bin men are being trained to be the “eyes and ears” of the police in an attempt to burglaries and anti-social behavior. Cambridgeshire Constabulary gave a workshop to 50 binmen on how to spot suspicious activity in the villages of Comberton and Swavesey. Mark Wallace, a spokesman for the TaxPayers’ Alliance, branded the idea a “farce” and said catching thieves should be the responsibility of police.
